About

Welcome to Theorem of the week!

The plan is to have something about a different theorem each week.  The format may vary (so there won’t be proofs every week, for example), but the aim is to have some interesting, readable thing to think about each week, at a level that is accessible to people who haven’t thought about maths much since school.  I hope to persuade some other people to write about their favourite theorems, so that it won’t just be me.  And of course anyone will be able to leave a comment, so I hope to get some useful feedback.  If you don’t understand something, have questions or just want to discuss the content a bit more, please go ahead and comment!

I’d like to thank James Cranch, Vinay Kathotia and Olof Sisask for their helpful comments about this blog.

Very nice – I feel sure I shall be able to refer people here from some of the theorem descriptions at my website. I look forward to seeing more!

Thanks, Robin! Great to know that you provide daily theorems for people who just can’t wait a week.
